Open Records is proud to present our long-awaited return to the game with Doppel’s amazing new release Melt.
The all-Aussie affair features three of the most exciting artists to emerge from Down Under in recent years, perfectly showcasing Open Records’ mission to expose the best music from the southern hemisphere.
Hailing from Australia’s capital city Canberra, Doppel is perhaps Australia’s best kept secret – but after the release of Melt we’re sure he won’t be for long. Soaked in melodic lushness but featuring intricate percussive rhythms, twisted effects and a solid bass groove, Melt is a quintessential summer anthem and sure to be a hit throughout the sweaty Aussie festival season.
Joining Doppel on remix duties are fast-rising Melbourne duo Thankyou City. The Mirams brothers are one of the most in-demand acts in Australia in recent years and one of our favourite homegrown live outfits. Taking the melodic groundwork of the original and repackaging it with their unmistakable warm vibes and a massive bottom end, their remix has been smashed across the globe on their recent world tour.
Closing out the release is Australia’s man-of-the-moment Retza. Stripping back the original elements to create a subtle, deep progressive masterpiece, it’s not hard to see why he has been picked up by international heavyweight labels like All Day I Dream, Watergate and Lo-Fi-45.
